A summer wedding is indeed enchanting if held outdoors. The bridegroom may take advantage of the sultry warm weather, beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies. Imagine having it held on a beach with the sound of waves crashing on the seashore, or in a garden with birds chirping and beautiful flowers in bloom. It can be a dream come true for many brides. But the bride has to take into consideration the heat and humidity this weather has to offer, that might cause some discomfort. So, here are some tips if you are in the process of wedding gown shopping for the sunny big day.

The wedding dresses for summertime must look astonishing with the white sands, lush greens and mountains that will serve as the background of the summer wedding. The dress must blend in with and yet stand out from the beauty of nature. Typically the styles of the summer dresses are sleeveless, halter type, and strapless. However, they style is not enough of a decision making point. You must also take into account the weight of the material. This makes fabric selection equally important. What you can try are the light silk materials such as chiffon, crepe, linen and organdy. Try avoiding silk or satin, since these tend to cling on the body which may become extremely uncomfortable. Thanks to modern technology, there are now synthetic fabrics that are also lightweight and can be the exact replica of silk and satin. Do discuss these options with your couturier.

You may be tempted to choose a short dress due to the type of weather, or maybe you’re planning to take a stroll on the sand barefooted. But if it is against how you picture your dream dress to be, or if it’s against your personal sense of style, then don’t. You have only one grand day, so make it as close to your dream as possible. What you can do is to have it customized, have the skirt tailored to knee length and ensure that the underskirt fabric is also lightweight. Or you may also opt for a dress that need not require an underskirt. Another possibility is having a ball type gown, as this allows your body to breathe freely.

In terms of design, any beading or ornate detail should be creatively and carefully explored. It can be beautiful without being heavy. As the saying goes, “less is more.” And do note that the more decorative elements you have on your gown, the more likely the gown will be heavier. Simple decorative pieces can already make you look lavish and elegant.

Choose your wedding dress conscientiously. This will serve as your life dress, one that you’ve been dreaming of since you were a young girl, one that will make you feel like a princess for a day, and one that will accompany you as you enter the world of forever with the person you love most. After finalizing your wedding dress, match it with a cool and beautiful birdcage veil.

Nothing beats a wedding look that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful on your most special day.
